Belts work especially well where the space is a constraint, since they are able to carry material even at 90° angle.
Rollback of the material is eliminated and hence the concept of angle of repose becomes redundant.

Steep Incline belts are best suited in applications where 90 Deg conveying is needed with high space constraints. These include power plants, recycling plant, pellet plants etc. These application prevent roll back of the material and give clean spillage free handling of material.
