The core product line is Conveyor belts. However, Oriental is also providing customized solutions in rubber related areas and is the Approved and Qualified supplier for a wide range of Rubber Products and Rubber to Metal Bonded products both for Static and Dynamic applications.

The diversity to engineer materials and composites to suit extreme weather conditions like sub zero temperatures in Scandinavia and high temperatures in Steel plants is credited to the well equipped Oriental R & D department thus enabling a wide range for Conveyor belts covering applications for: Wear Resistant, Heat Resistant, Fire Resistant, Oil Resistant, Ozone Resistant, Rip, Impact & Tear Resistant. The Oriental Plants are equipped with an In-house NABL accredited R & D Lab.

JOURNEY TOWARDS FLEXIBILITY

1949 Founded by Mr. Sadanand Makar, Oriental Rubber commences manufacturing of rubber products in independent India

1957 Mr. Vijeynand Makar, one of the foremost Indian rubber technologists, joins the company after qualifying from the National College, London. The company now produces cycle tires, transmission belts, defense and railways products.

1964 The company is established as a leading producer of conveyor and transmission belts with addition of 1800 mm press and calender lines from Japan

1974 1st Indian company to procure a 1600 mm wide Siempelkamp Press line from Germany

1978 First to introduce nylon reinforced conveyor belts in India

1993 World class, dedicated belt manufacturing plant in Pune

1994 Commenced exports to Western Europe and USA. Wear protection products introduced

2001 Completes expansion to double production and become the #1 exporter of conveyor belts in the country Accredited with ISO 9001 Certification.

2007 Plant 2 commences production on greenfield site of 65,000 sq.M, as a 100% EOU. Oriental designs and introduces MAXX ROUND pipe belts.

2011 Increase in product range by adding 2200 mm wide Siempelkamp Press. Oriental launches MAXX ARMOUR belts with Kevlar® reinforcement.

2013 Installed a 2600 mm wide Clouth press, the widest of it's kind in India. Produced MAXX ROUND textile pipe belts with 700 mm dia - the largest in the world!

2014 Oriental becomes 1st Indian MNC by commencing production in South Africa

2016 Launch of MAXX STEELFLEX 2400 mm wide steel cord belt line at Plant 2, including calender line and internal mixer. Additions in plied belt capacity. 2nd Siempelkamp press line commissioned in SA plant.

2017 Conferred with Highest Export Award by AIRIA for 2016-17

2018 Conferred with Highest Export and Domestic Sales Excellence Award by AIRIA for 2017-18. Mr Vikram Makar elected as the President of AIRIA. In it's 70th year, Oriental becomes the #1 producer of conveyor belts in India.

2019 The company receives a prestigious project order for over 20 kms of Maxx Round® pipe belts.

2020 Commissioning of 1600mm (64") wide, state of the art Steel Cord cum Production Line
